All hail the high priestess of fashion that is forward. Tilda Swinton is in the house, y'all. After what seemed like an eternity (we last saw her at the BAFTAs) Tilda was head guest in the front row at Lanvin Fall 2012 show in Paris this weekend. Having endured a Swinton-less Oscars, seeing her odd beauty and f*ck-off cool hair was a breath of fresh air, we sh-t you not. [caption id="attachment_1856" align="aligncenter" width="427" caption="2012 Space Oddess Tilda Swinton at Lanvin show in Paris"][/caption] And she brought it. She has a profound ability to select styles that aren't bang-on androgynous but straddle a fine line between femininity and androgyny. This Lanvin draped gown she wore to the show on Friday night is a perfect example of a predominantly mininalist style with undoubted feminine aspects. Tilda is more other-wordly than androgynous. She's so amazing, she can't be human. There is an alien fem-bot queen in there and she's not afraid to show it. [caption id="attachment_1858" align="aligncenter" width="420" caption="BOHOMOTH dreams of stalking Tilda at fashion week"][/caption] Tilda doesn't care about sexy, in a Lopez or Madonna way. She doesn't need to be wanted by every male on the planet. Tilda don't give a shit. She exudes confidence and cool charisma, and is the personification of personal style. One thing is for sure, the bitch loves fashion, fashion loves her and we are voyeurs in a dim lit cubicle watching this sartorial porn. It is very, very difficult to stop staring at her. Let's celebrate our Space Oddess with a look at her style highlights from 2012 so far: [caption id="attachment_1859" align="aligncenter" width="367" caption="Hello, my name is fabulous"][/caption] Where did you go to, our Tilda? Our last public view of her was in simple, minimalist white by Celine. Pared back attire with rocked out hair. We loves her. [caption id="attachment_1860" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Sartorial dominatrix, we submit to her"][/caption] Super chic in full goddess armour, Tilda was a vision in white Lanvin for the SAG Awards. There was criticism of no belt but we think the heavy cuff was enough. She knows exactly where to pull back on bells and whistles, she knows her face is the main attraction and what she's wearing is the frame around the masterpiece. [caption id="attachment_1861" align="aligncenter" width="383" caption="Japanese teddy boy meets fashion and movie icon"][/caption] She not all gowns and galas, the Swinton-ator did Jon Stewart's The Daily Show in Haider Ackermann in a Japanese-teddy boy look in January. So fashion forward, so chic, so blooming odd. See JLo, you can embrace your masculine side without wearing the bulge 'downstairs'. [caption id="attachment_1863" align="aligncenter" width="427" caption="Tilda works it out in a cornflower blue tuxedo jacket, gold cuffs and a Flock of Seagulls 'do"][/caption] Absolutely the look of awards season this year was Tilda in Haider Ackermann for the Golden Globe Awards. Another example of her ability to bring femininity with a masuline edge. Her hair is so f*cking fabulous it should have it's own Twitter account, not Angelina's bloody right leg. Tilda could teach Angie a thing or two during their next gal pal tête-à-tête. Coming up: BOHO REPRO - get Tilda's Paris street style!

If I had a daughter and she told me she wanted to be Tilda when she grows up, I would burst with pride. You nailed that Shiny- that she doesn’t seek male validation with her fashion choices- she has TWO men a home and she doesn’t need more! *starts Tilda’s hair twitter*

LOVE me some Tilda! LOVE her, drool over her, LOVE her!

  2. canuck says:

Tilda is nothing but all kinds of awesomeness. THIS is why the “Barbie doll” mentality in HW is so annoying. Women who aren’t cookie cutter beautiful but who have so much character and charisma in their way of being that it transcends everything else get nipped and tucked into conformity.

    Thank god for European cinema.
