Ah bless Madonna. When her ‘people’ got in touch and told her a hot up and coming singer wanted to do it ‘Gangnam Style’ with her she didn’t have her hearing horn to hand and misheard that they wanted to do it Gang-Bang style.
It turns out they were talking about Korean Superstar Psy joining her onstage in New York on Monday, whose irritating novelty song Gangnam Style winds me up almost as badly as 50 Shades of Grey.
It’s like the Crazy Frog all over again and we’re going to have to put up with half-cut drunken Uncles and Aunt types doing Gangnam Style dancing and singing at Christmas parties and thinking they’re insta-comedy when in fact they are to entertainment what Brad Pitt or Victoria Beckham are to design. I.E. Cringe-worthily embarrassing.
And trust Vadge to muscle in on the Psy act. She did the same when Ali G was popular, but the problem is that a woman who takes herself so seriously that she has spent hundreds of thousands in an attempt to look twenty years younger than her actual fifty-four years isn’t ever going to be self-deprecating enough to ever be ‘funny’.
Think up your own ‘things’ people. It’s like when your office co-worker thinks repeating ad infinitum a catch-phrase a well-known comedian gets laughs with is heart-attack inducingly hilarious.
It’s about as entertaining as spending the afternoon with a toddler playing the ‘I’ll repeat everything you say’ game whilst sitting there with poo in their pants and chocolate all over their face.
Apart from the latter’s funnier and comes with better natural comic timing.
