Michelle Obama took inspiration from her 2012 Olympics meeting with Kate Middleton yesterday as she recycled an entire outfit for TNT’s Christmas In Washington event.
The First Lady joined President Obama and their girls, Sasha and Malia to sing carols with Hugh Jackman in a white and gold gladiator-esque J Mendel embriodered cap-sleeve top and swishy white skirt with the same bronze Manolo Blahnik kitten heels she wore with the look back at the Pre-Olympics Reception at Buckingham Palace in July 2012.
Michelle was probably reading about Kate Middleton’s recycled Roland Mouret look with a £19.99 Zara necklace, and decided to werk that redux sh1t in her honour (that’s how Shelly-O rolls, y’all).
The less said about Middlers’ shiny Christopher Kane coatdress the better. Though I happily endure the memory for the chance to see Shelly in this fierce look again.
Special mention to the Obama girls who handled the cheese-fest with dignity and a complete lack of the heel-dragging associated with their age group. Incidentally I’m starting to get a finger-snapping vibe off Malia, who appears to be sporting one of Carven’s hit cable knit sweaters.
Merry Christmas, Obamas!
