BOHOS 2014: The ‘Gurl, We’re Rooting For You’ Award

Nigella Lawson in the wake of Charles Saatchi’s vicious smear campaign against her
Leah Remini after she left the Cult of Scientology
Lea Michele as she struggles to cope with Cory Monteith’s death in the year she should have been marrying him
Amanda Bynes as she puts her life back together following her hospitalisation last year

Winner: Lea Michele

She’s put on a valiantly brave face so far following boyfriend Cory Monteith’s tragic death last summer, but the real grieving’s probably not even started yet for Lea Michele.

The 27-year-old Glee star’s got so many emotionally-testing milestones to get through this year – the anniversary of Cory’s death, birthdays, another Christmas and what would have been relationship milestones.

Lea deserves ALL the love and support from EVERYONE as she picks herself up, dusts herself off and hopes against hope to heal her broken heart and just get through each day as best she can.

We have every faith that she’ll make it, but understand that she’s got a long way to go yet.

‘Fist-pumping every step of the way with you, kid.

A worthy winner, indeed. Real grieving often starts many months after the person has died when people stop asking every day how you are and whether you need some love or a cuddle and it begins to dawn on you that this person IS DEAD FOREVER.

    Team Magnificent Nigella.

It does indeed. Gah I made myself almost start crying writing that before. I’m a bit hormonal right now :-/ After my dad died I used to wake up and be happy for a second and then remember or dream he was still alive and then be sad. Point is though eventually all that goes away and you’re ok again. SO yeah hugs to Lea, people tend to not realise that the real work starts way after the funeral, about 3 months in in my experience when that anaesthesia of the initial shock goes. My son and I have started trying out pretending people are simply “in Australia”. It’s a joke, in a way, but makes us larf and that’s a good thing too.

And yes! Team Nigella! I’ve been into watching her old cookery programmes lately they rock!

  4. Sassy says:

pretty sure the relationship was fake – but i’m sure she’s grieving the loss of her costar and friend.
