Um, a quick note to Kate Middleton. This is how you get in with the locals:
Diana managed to wear a this Catherine Walker gown, a garment close to local tradition without looking like she was playing dress-up on her visit to Thailand in 1988.
The Duchess of Cambridge got a loaner from the princess costume closet at Disneyland Paris and sent it off to a master fashion house to copy for the occasion of meeting the top man in Malaysia.
This is going to be an unpopular statement but my nieces have that dress, and many like it, in a trunk in their play room. It’s SO NOT the usual vibe of Alexander McQueen. I get the significance of the Malaysian flower embroidery (and I don’t wish to insult lovers of the hibiscus or Malaysia) but this dress is hiddy.
The only redeeming quality of this gown is its length – I don’t have to hate the shoes.
I think it’s pretty, but the exaggerated boob box looks wildly inappropriate now I’ve seen Diana’s.

I think Diana’s dress was hideous. She looked like a flag of a third world country. I don’t mind Kate’s dress at all. It seems more like an homage to a national costume of Malaysia than anything.
I always thought diana pretty much had horrible dress sense I never understood why people thought she wore fabulous clothes
But I have to admit I do like this dress
I mean Kate’s dress not dianas

I like Kate’s dress. Diana looked hideous there, the dress was ugly, her hair was manly, her face harsh and she wasn’t happy, period. She didn’t start looking good again until she divorced Prince Tick Turd.
