So, you may remember the last time Kristen Stewart wore Balenciaga – also known as the oversized-Wonderbra moment- which was on November 3rd at an On The Road red carpet.
This also happened to be two days before her good friend Nicolas Ghesquière left the highly-influential label – of which he’s been at the helm of for fifteen years.
And, now the fiercely-pro Liberty Ross pal Alexander Wang (who cast her in his September show to make a faboosh IN YER FACE TRAMPIRE! type public bounce-back after her husband cheated with K-Stew) has officially taken Ghesquière’s place at Balenciaga, there’s been muchos tongue-wagging that Stewart will now be unceremoniously dumped as the face of the label’s perfume Florabotanica.
Not so fast.
When Kristen signed up with Balenciaga she would have inked her name on a contract so long and so specific – including where and when she’ll wear their brand - that it would have probably taken anything up to a couple of months for lawyers on both sides to draft and finalise.
Wang obviously has sway there from a design point of view but he can’t mean-girl his way into Balanciaga’s parent-company PPR’s head-office and demand the label bosses dump Kristen from their perfume campaign because she was horrid to his friend.
If Balanciaga do ditch Kristen from Florabotanica when it comes to rework the campaign next year, it’s because none of her fans are old enough to be able to afford the fashion house’s perfume and no-one else wants to smell like her.
And in other developments Nicolas Ghesquière allegedly joined Twitter yesterday (@TWNGhesquiere) and his profile pic is of himself and K-Stew. That’s a statement of intent if we’ve ever seen one. Where he leads, she may follow. Balenciaga will no doubt be glad to see the back of her.

yeah, that and a trashed marriage and public humiliation. Good deal. I’m sure Liberty sent Kristen a nice bouquet and thank you note.

accusing liberty ross and alexander wang is unfair and baseless…liberty is so classy and won’t stoop to that level if ever given a chance. aside from that, who are they to dictate balenciaga management? hmm i can smell something… is it that you want to portray kristen as victim or what? who cheat with whom????
