“Virtue and vice” was how Catherine Malandrino described her latest collection. Her inspiration was a 1942 horror flick called La Féline, in which the temptress protagonista transforms herself into a man-killing cat-woman by night

Interesting – Style.com’s wrap up of Malandrino’s Fall 2012 collection, from which Kristen Stewart pulled a frock from for her latest New York screening of On The Road (which she has been promoting the sh*t out of this past week).
And what did she choose?
A look that embodies a year where she had herself branded with the scarlet letter, kissed the vampire goodbye and was the sexual subject of an indie movie.
The look consisted of a PVC bandeau bra top and mini-skirt beneath a sheer stripe-effect embellished mini-dress.
Risky, risque.

My own reservations aside – about her attitude, foolishness and talent seemingly unequal to her popularity – I think this is a genius look.
Although I would have liked to have seen a longer hemline to distinguish the shorts from the sheath, she fills the dress well, and carries off what could be an intensely slutty look, in the wrong hands. This long-sleeved, high-neck and short skirt is her look.
The hair is a disaster, of course, but the ruddy eye-make-up – which embraces the theme of the collection and her turned-vampire Twilight character – is the best beauty look I’ve ever seen on her.
Stewart went with her go-to black pointed stiletto pump. It’s an okay choice. I’d rather see something a little more covered up, like a suede ankle boot. She’s lucky she got any compliments after the beach shorts at the Sandy Concert on the same day.

I really love this dress. ‘Could never wear it myself- I imagine spanx wouldn’t look too good underneath.
I dunno about the make-up though. ‘Makes her look like a smack-head.
In the context of this look and her history, it works IMO.
Sorry, but her face in that first pic is awful. No, I don’t think the make up is a good look on her at all.
agreed, she has this knack of looking like a junkie who has just had a massive hit, I love the smokey eye, and red lips on K-stew
