Anyone remember Renee Zellweger?
In case you don’t recognise her from the above photograph, then let me remind you.
Yep, her. You know… Put on weight, played Bridget Jones and snogged Hugh Grant and Mr. Darcy in a movie, lost weight got scary skinny married a gay country singer, put on more weight, played Bridget Jones again and snogged Hugh Grant and Mr. Darcy in a movie, dated a gay actor, ‘went quiet for a bit and here she is.
The 43-year-old actress has resurfaced with a boyfriend in tow, who’s best known for being a former Sheryl Crow sh&g.
Yep, that don’t impress me much either. If I wasn’t so exhausted today I’d sit down and work out the ways in which that part of celebrity-ville is carnally-related.
His name’s Doyle Bramhall II and he’s a guitarist that’s toured with Eric Clapton – amongst others.
She’s known him for years so finally they realised what they’d been searching for all along was right under their noses tra la la etc. etc. repeat ad. nauseum.
That out of the way, I’m glad to see than Renee doesn’t appear to be over-exercising her sexual frustration away as she was in the Bradley Cooper days.
She’s got one of those faces that’s quite lovely when she’s the weight she’s meant to be and who being skinny doesn’t suit at all (my theory is it’s all down to body type and how you’re made).
It’s tricky as forkgoing from longtime friends to being a couple but they look pretty happy. I’m glad I’m not that man standing in front of them in the queue at the airport though, I’d very possibly turn around and spew through my fingers down her back if I heard their tender slurping in my ear.
I hope she is, Renee’s had her fair share of heartache and I think it was a good move taking a break from Hollywood for a while.
That said, after a two-year hiatus, she’s got two feature films - ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ (eye-roll) ’4 1/2Minutes’ and a short called ‘Job Interview With Renee Zellweger’ out next year.
Let’s hope this new relationship keeps her off the celebrity yo-yo dieting roundabout- I dread to think how much she’s been told to ‘pile on’ for what Hollywood imaginate Bridget Jones would look like after a baby- nine stone while she’s pregnant and seven stone a week after giving birth probably.
Well at least this boyfriend looks straight. lol
