Kristen Stewart does make me laugh. She so perfectly reminds me of what it was like to be a defiant 17-year-old who pretends to say what they like and like what they bloody well say, but really suffers from a crushing sense of insecurity thanks to an ever-churning inner identity crisis.
The 22-year-old vampire-turned-beat generation muse in the movie-adaptation of ‘On The Road’ has told Newsweek about her ‘refusal to kowtow to the celebrity-industrial complex.’
In an interview where I can imagine her carving ‘F°CK YOU ALL!!!!!????!!’ with the tip of a knife into the restaurant table as she talked to the journalist, K-Stew claimed yet again that she doesn’t care if people hate her: ‘It’s not a terrible thing if you’re either loved or hated. But honestly, I don’t care ’cause it doesn’t keep me from doing my sh*t.’
‘And I apologise to everyone for making them so angry. It was not my intention.’
She explained: ‘It’s a little annoying having to be so compartmentalized. I go from box to box to box. Like right now, this is so crazy ’cause we’re out at a restaurant.’
‘But I’m going out a lot more now, I was starting to get closed off and self-conscious, and I’m trudging forth into the world more often.’
I was a single mother-of-one when I was Kristen’s age so didn’t have the luxury of such extensive naval-gazing and clear fretting about what people on twatter think.
She’s starting to worry me though.
Kristen seems to be dealing very badly with the pressures of fame and all the downsides that come with being paid millions to work for a few months every year and needs to genuinely grow an elephant-sized thick skin or get the hell out of the game before she has a Britney style head-shaving episode, followed by a meltdown of epic proportions.
