Raf Simons has collaborated with Adidas on a collection of mens trainers – which he unveiled at his show during Paris menswear fashion week yesterday.
Personally, I don’t think they’ll be a hit – one glance through google images at ‘Lego Shoes’ throws up much more aesthetically-pleasing shoes from the kiddies’ building blocks brand that can be snapped up for a fraction of the price.

Still, the Adidas collaboration isn’t as bad as the 2008 foray Raf had into mens’ trainers.

These cork and plastic ‘show boots’ look like something an 80′s storm trooper might wear on a night out at a gay bar in space.

And his own label Fall Winter 2009 fawn, pink and blue hi-tops weren’t much better.
So with that in mind, perhaps Raf should forget the trainers and stick to whipping us up some fash-gasmic gowns to ooh and ahh over for Dior’s Fall/ Winter 2013 collection for February’s fashion week.

I like the understated trainers on the catwalk. I’d get them for Mr Shiny but he’d get mud on them.
