Cartoon Katy made a comeback on Saturday at the Kids Inaugural Concert during the week’s celebrations leading up to the swearing-in of the 57th President of the United States today (Barack Obama, in case you’ve been living under a rock).
Out with Gothic-Heidi, back in with the campy animated wardrobe that made her famous.
Perry went back to her former wheelhouse and overdid the chest-thumping, national-pride theme in a custom stars’n'stripes booby bustier and skirt – that let’s face it, looks like what Wonder Woman would wear to marry the Six Million Dollar Man in Vegas.
And just when you thought that the display couldn’t get any camper…
And I’m not talking about four silver dickie-bowed prancers…
In a move patented by Buck Fizz at the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest, Katy lashed off the unflattering skirt made from superhero cape fabric, to reveal an enormous pair of striped knickers with a frilly hem. And bedazzled stage school tights.
Brava, darling. That’s what I call good ol’ fashioned stage-wear. Attention granted.

Is it just me, but shouldn’t the swearing in of an American President be a simple affair, especially for the 2nd term? Sadly, it seems there is no politician in America who would forgo the expensive festivities for the sake of a simple, short swearing in ceremony in an effort to save a government hugely in debt some money??
Much as i enjoy watching it all, yes i shudder to think how much it all cost. When we do public events like the jubilee for example, in the UK they say the money’s justified as it attract tourism and boosts morale. America definitely really needs a good boost and feeling that everything’s going to be alright. If i’d been a coma for the past ten years and woke up and saw all this I’d never think we were in the middle of a deep recession.
