Praise the gods of costume drama, Mad Men returns on April 7th with a two-hour premiere.
I for one am frothing at the mouth at the thought of the garish late ’60s glamour of shiny polyester, heavy make-up and huge hair showcased in the promo shots of the cast for the up-and-coming sixth season.
Will Joan and Rodger get their sh*t together? After a full season of fidelity, will Don Draper become a philandering douche again (albeit a hot one)? With Joan? Will creepy Pete and slimey Harry continue to make me want to clean my eyes and ears with baby wipes? What kind of hot messes are Betty and Sally in the late ’60s? Is Peggy going to rock the helmet hair for another season and perhaps have a ‘go-around’ with her new boss?

Promo. I think one of the points of the entire series is the decaying of society as it was seen in the ’50s. In the ’60s commercialism brought about change with the rise of youth culture and with it litter, garish fashion and a visible loosening of self-presentation and morals.
