KYLIE MINOGUE’S HANGING UP HER MICROPHONE FOR ACTING AND ‘ME TIME’ – SO WHAT’S THAT INVOLVE THEN?

Well bonjour little pop princess Kylie Minogue – who is shown here posing up in a photograph she posted on twitter of herself in a pink Michelle Smith dress.

The 44-year-old Melbourne-born star has reached a bit of a crossroads in her life.

After her K25 tour last year (to celebrate the twenty-five year anniversary of Kylie’s pop career) she announced a split from her long-term manager Terry Blamey and revealed that she’s taking a break from music to concentrate on acting instead.

She’s now set to appear in a one-off black comedy to be shown on the UK’s Sky Arts channel called Hey Diddly Dee, co-starring with Homeland’s David Harewood in a play that is produced by Stephen Fry and Sandi Toksvig’s production company, Sprout.

I wonder though what else Kylie has up her sleeve. ‘Kylie has decided to pull back slightly from the pressures of her career and devote more time to herself and her acting career,’ said Blamey when they announced they were going their separate ways earlier this month.

Could there be the teeny-tiny patter of feet or wedding bells on the horizon for the former Neighbours star?

Or is she truly just taking some ‘me time’ to just hang out with Spanish model boyfriend Andres Velencoso, 34, in the London home they bought together a couple of years ago and bitch about Simon Cowell and other assorted douchey exes (I’m looking at you Olivier) with newly-single younger sister Dannii?

As I’ve said before, it makes me a bit sad to see the likes of Madge push themselves so relentlessly in a punishing workaholic lifestyle, so I for one am happy Minogue’s taking some well-earned time off.

When she was recovering from cancer, Kylie revealed that she would know she was better when she ate langoustine with Olivier in Portofino, Italy. It made me feel a bit teary for her when I watched that interview and heard her say that, knowing the relationship was in tatters.

I hope she gets to do that with Andres.
