INSIDE DAVID BECKHAM’S MOVE TO PARIS, VICTORIA WILL STAY IN LONDON AND HE’S DONATING HIS ENTIRE SALARY TO A KIDS’ CHARITY

I’ve just been watching David Beckham sit through a press conference for his move to Paris Saint-Germain club and the best thing about the five-month stay in the French capital is that he’s donating his entire salary to a local children’s charity.

That’s a wonderful gesture and the 37-year-old should be fully applauded for it. He won’t confirm exactly how much they’ll be getting, but he says it’s a ‘substantial’ sum.

He’s also confirmed that Victoria and the kids will be based in London, as I said earlier, and I’m presuming this is because the boys are now enrolled in a private school near Beckingham Palace and with the move to LA already disrupting their schooling – especially as Brooklyn’s now a teenager-  it would be crazy to move them for what would amount to just two terms of the school year.

David says he’s going to be staying in a hotel while he’s in Paris as that’ll be easiest for the kids when they go to visit.

He can commute easily enough though, it’s only an hour away from London and they can visit him at weekends.

The move was only finalised at 1am last night and signed off this morning after his medical but he says that he wants to focus on getting his fitness up and then we’ll all be treated to pictures of David running around the pitch when he starts playing.

David says he wants to be part of Paris Saint-Germain because he ‘gets’ what they’re doing as they go through a vast phase of expansion, with the team’s chiefs saying they want to be the ‘biggest European club in the world’.

And, whilst he’s had offers from British clubs, he said he only wants to play for Manchester United if plays in England – as that’s ‘his’ team.

One more thing- he only speaks one word of French- ‘Bonjour’.
