The 67-year-old has always shirked Hollywood tradition and maintained an admirably growing old gracefully but beautifully visage and body – without looking at any point as if she’s had her face pinned up behind her ears.
But you know what they say- when someone has had fresh work, then doctors advise a drastic change of hair so people think that’s why they look different.
Pink hair and a swirling of her faboosh Nicholas Oakwell gown on the BAFTAs red carpet might work well as a distraction against a newly-taut face.
Dame Helen, however, says America’s Next Top Model’s to blame for the new ‘do: ‘I just thought it would be fun to dye my hair pink. I mean, honestly, I was watching America’s Next Top Model and the season where there were the British girls,’ she said.
‘Well, the British girl who won, she had pink hair, and I thought: “That looks really pretty.” So I’m copying her, basically.’
Personally, I think she does look ever so slightly refreshed but exactly in the way that any kind of cosmetic work should be done- which is very subtly. She looks fresh, gorgeous, beautiful and most importantly – happy and full of life.
And I love the pink hair. It could have come off as crazy cat lady but it works because Helen has the confidence and panache to pull it off.
I believe!!!!!!!!!! When I get her age I want to be just like her. When I finally go white I look forward to the pink!! Yes, totally so faboosh.

I think the hair is spray temp colour….or something similar. When she was on graham norton she complimented one of the little mix group who had gone purple and she was in raptures about it
