Well someone’s spent summer sunning themselves on their roof-top terrace.
Sarah Jessica Parker popped along to a Lexus event at New York fashion week wearing a beyond cool Giles Deacon A/W 13 little black dress with a slight punky twist of studded detailing around the neckline last night.
The 48-year-old looked absolutely fantastique – this is the sort of dress I’d wear, it’s beautifully simple and understated but the studs lift it out of bland territory.
Meanwhile, in other SJP news, she’s been announced as one of the co-chairs of next year’s Met Gala along with…(drumroll) OSCAR DE LA RENTA and, Bradley Cooper (no, me either).
The subject of the Costume Institute Exhibit is going to be couturier Charles James, and the event’s going to be the polar opposite of this year’s punk to couture theme.
In other words there’ll be lots of high-fash-ion gowns, crazy OTT hats and fabulousness rather than a sea of studs and black lipstick. (Although I’m not sure what the Coop’s mom will wear).
It’s a shame in a way as it’ll be harder to mock Kim Kartrashian (if Kanye blags her another ticket) if she’s allowed to wear some Oscar de la Renta, but surely that’s the fashion equivalent of blasphemy and hopefully Givenchy will work their magic on her and we have some guaranteed laughs pencilled in for nine month’s time.
Can not wait.
