Prepare to set your eyes to roll, because Angelina Jolie’s set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Governor’s Awards in November.
The 37-year-old “director” will be handed the honorary Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – along with fellow recipients Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin and costume designer Piero Tosi.
These awards are dished out to ”pay tribute to individuals who’ve made indelible contributions in their respective fields,” Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the Academy’s president said yesterday.
Of la Jolie Cheryl praised her, ”humanitarian efforts, and how she lives her life.”
Snickersnort – how she lives her life?…don’t anyone email her the heroin den video for the next few months.
“Her support of humanitarian causes are really to be greatly admired,” she added.
Meanwhile, it makes my icy, blackened heart melt a little to see how happy the Jolie-Pitt children have been looking this week.
Zahara’s such a snappy little dresser with such a fierce ‘don’t mess with me or my brothers and sisters’ attitude, Madd being a too cool for school shades-wearing dude, Knox and Shiloh excitedly looking around for the next laugh and Pax’s refusal to be snapped without that purple teddy covering his face is really making me chuckle.
I’m starting to think they might all be just fine when they all go off into the world in young adulthood.
I know the airport shots of Ange and all six kids departing LAX and then arriving in Sydney, Australia, yesterday are classic Jolie-style posed “natural” photo-ops, and of course you can bet that an army of disgruntled-looking nannies trotted out of the airport ten minutes after Ange and the kids did.
But I’m glad to see the six children aren’t looking as miserable as they have done so often in the past.
Whatever you think, or whatever I think of Brad and Angelina, if the kids are looking chipper, then in my book that’s a great thing.
