Well, hellooo Mummy.
Kate Winslet walked the red carpet for her latest film ‘Labor Day’ at Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday and didn’t she look like a slice of fabulousness on toast?
The 37-year-old expectant mother was wearing a bespoke full length black (it looks like midnight blue to me but the PR insists it’s black) crepe gown with cap sleeves and Swarovski embellished belt by fellow Brit Jenny Packham.
God I could stare at that pre-Raphaelite style bust for hours, but anyway, the cut of the material is perfection and this is a masterclass in dressing a pregnant figure for a black-tie do.
It’s simple and not showy, but with just a dash of embellishment to lift it out of the doldrums. And thank goodness she left her horrendous magpie hat back in London.
As for Labor Day, it received mixed reviews from critics in Toronto, er, possibly because it’s about “an agoraphobic single mum who takes in an escaped convict” (Josh Brolin) and very little hilarity ensues, save for him tying her to a chair and spoon feeding her chilli.
Still, she asked for this film to be a flop – her not winning an Oscar next March is the celebrity Gods’ way of showing their disapproval at her marrying a man called Ned RocknRoll and it not being for a joke.
There’s a clip of the film below if you’re interested.
